Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4)
Defines the fundamental network-layer protocol for the internet. Specifies addressing (32-bit), fragmentation, time-to-live, and datagram routing. Remains the dominant IP version despite IPv6 deployment, carried by every internet-connected device.
