Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)

Protocol for automatically assigning IP addresses, subnet masks, gateways, and DNS servers to network hosts. Eliminates manual IP configuration in enterprise, home, and industrial networks. Extended by DHCPv6 (RFC 8415) for IPv6.
